Free At Last – Antigua Six Return Home
The 6 New Yorkers jailed in Antigua after a brawl with plain clothes officers are back home. According to reports, the 6 were put in jail cells with feces covered walls and returned home with extensive bug bites.
While the outpouring of support has been rampant, there are some who question what caused the 6 young professionals to be jailed. The original report says that they were jailed after refusing to pay a taxi fare which increased after they began a trek to tour Antigua. A member of the group says the six were attacked by plain clothes officers and thrown into jail without explanation. Dissenters insist that the travelers should have cooperated with the police.
Due to the recent events, Carnival Cruise lines has ended their relationship with Antigua. The cruise giant,insists that it had nothing to do with the recent events.
