Pleasure P. – Uncle Chester Child Molester or Victim of Jealousy?

Pleasure P, former member of R&B group Pretty Ricky, had perhaps one of the best and worst weeks of his life. Hours before his Grammy nomination was announced, the web began to roar with allegations of child molestation. The whole saga began in the twittosphere.

Twitter user @AGoldsteingirl, revealed that Pleasure (gov’t name Marcus Cooper) was convicted of molesting a 4 year old child. @AGoldsteingirl said that her father represented the crooner and successfully got his record sealed. When questioned current Pretty Ricky group member Spectacular (the pink pantie boy) tweeted “I thought those records were sealed”.

The story was originally broken by Isis Wisdom of Wordonthestreetmag.com. Soon after the story broke other bloggers began to post emails they received from unnamed sources about the allegations. Initially, Pleasure could not be reached for comment. A day later pleasure released the following statement on Atlantic Records website

“All of the recent rumors and accusations that are being circulated about me are 100% false. They are disgusting and vile; and they are being spread by individuals with their own sick agendas. The purported documents that are also being circulated are forgeries. I have never met or known anyone by the name of “AGoldstein” or Laura Goldstein or Ashley Goldstein, which I believe are fictitious names. I have never been represented by an attorney named Goldstein. For someone to go to such depths to assassinate my character and slander my good name is truly criminal. My attorneys are investigating this matter and will take all necessary and appropriate action to protect my name and reputation.”

The court documents which seam to support the allegations leave some room for questions. In order for the records to be sealed, Cooper would have to be underage at the time of the offense. The date on the documents do not lend to this notion. However, the folks at Wordonthestreetmag.com did some investigation and found that the documents were not for the original case. Instead they represent a separate injunction filed to remove Pleasure from another home to prevent a child from being molested. The verdict is still out on Pleasure and his affinity for touching children. The twitter account for @Agoldsteingirl has since been suspended. One thing is for sure, the Grammy nomination surely can not alleviate the sting of being called a child molester.
