Allen Iverson Returns to 76ers – Cries Tears of Joy
The Long embattled Allen Iverson is once again a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. Three years ago Iverson left the team amid controversy. After the departure, he could not shake the trouble maker reputation no matter where he went. Culminating into the announcement of his retirement in November after no team wanted to pick up the self proclaimed franchise player.
Perhaps one of the most notable moments in Iverson’s checkered past came during another press conference when he lashed out saying “I am a franchise player and we are here talking about practice. Not a game! Not a game? But practice?”
The light at the end of the tunnel for the veteran came when the 76ers offered him a one year $1.3 million dollar contract. During a press conference about his return to the game, Iverson cried tears of redemption and announced that he is sorry for his past antics.
