Rampage Jackson Returns to the UFC to Fight Rashad Evans
Quinton Rampage Jackson is returning to the UFC for one more fight. On his blog at Rampage-Jackson.com, he touts that he will be returning to silence the mouths of both Dana White and Rashad Evans. The former UFC champion left the sport to pursue his acting career, but after receiving criticism for being afraid of Rashad he has decided to return.
During the current season of The Ultimate Fighter, Rampage went head to head with Rashad over just about everything. The two were like oil and water they just didn’t mix. By the end of the show Evans was on top, largely due to his teams dominance of the entire show. The Jackson squad failed to place any fighters in the finale.
The fight is not yet scheduled, but will likely take place early next year. Prior to Rampage’s departure from the UFC, he was slated to fight Evans by the end of 2009. The whole saga seems to be a bit contrived and a bit reminiscant of the WWE; reality TV squabble followed by a hyped up fight. If you ask us at 10th Life, Dana White had this planned for the ratings all along. The timing of his return is just too perfect.
